Frankie Hernandez started where he left off by winning Hampton Ridge opener.
The Hampton Ridge 9 Ball Tour season took off with a bang On Sunday February 27, 2005. Special thanks to Benedict Ming for hosting the event. Also thanks to Bill Finnegan for all his help with the event.
A strong field of 32 came out for the opener. Leading the way on the top half of the bracket was Frankie Hernandez with wins over Michael Tosado 7-1, Joe Scott 7-5, Noel Bensurto 7-1 and David Carver 7-3.
Leading the way on the bottom half of the bracket was Joey Korsiak with wins over Kent Wuethrich 7-2, Marc Vidal 7-5, Eddie Abraham 7-2 and Eddie Vazquez 7-4 sening up a match with Frankie for the hot seat.
The big story was Santos Sambajon who came into the event as the favorite but quickly lost his first two matches to Antonio G and Pat Mcnally knocking him out of the event.
Playing for the hot seat was Frankie Hernandez and Joey Korsiak, Frankie and Joey went back and forth but when it was all over Frankie edged out Joey 7-5.
Eddie Vazquez was working his way through the one loss side with wins over Redgie Cutler 7-2 and David Carver 7-3. Eddie met up with Joey to see who was going to the finals. This was a one sided match with Eddie in full control winning easily 7-2.
In the finals it was Frankie Hernandez Vs Eddie Vazquez. From the beginning, Frankie took over the match and went on to win 9-4.
