The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour was in the Windy City over the weekend with a field of 48 players at G-Cue Restaurant and Billiards.
Local player Bill Fowler doesn't get out to many tournaments, but he made the most of coming out for his first Viking event this season by taking the hot-seat with a hill-hill win over Neal Vichiensaen. The hill-hill match was nothing new for Neal, as his previous three matches had also been hill-hill.
Vichiensaen went to the one-loss side where he eliminated Scott Cohen. As expected, the score was hill-hill.
In the finals, Fowler broke Vichiensaen's string of hill-hill matches with a 7-1 victory.
Fowler earned $960 for first, while Vichiensaen settled for $600 in second place prize money. Cohen and Mark Pratico filled out the top four spots.
The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour will be back in the Chicago area next weekend at Cue-N-You Billiards in Grayslake.
