At the spacious and homey Beyond Billiards in beautiful Davie, Florida, John Foster defeated Tommy Kennedy to win the J. Pechauer Southeast Open 9-Ball Tour this past weekend. There were a total of 34 players and a prize fund of $2170.00.
Initially it was tour organizer and professional player Kennedy who found himself in the hot seat and who also sent Foster to the left side of the tournament chart. However, in the final one race to 11 the tables turned and Foster took control throughout the entire match and decisively won 11-4.
Included in the field were known Brittish players Richard Broumpton and Tony Crosby. Day one of the two day event additionally saw top female finisher Kim Caso and junior player Anthony Meglino each pocketing $50 for their spectacular efforts. In the spirit of community giving, the tour donated $30.00 to the Hospice of Davie, Fl.
