Kelly Fisher went undefeated through a field of 23 entrants on hand for the KWIKFIRE Cues Tour stop on the weekend of October 9-10. The $2,000-added event, with a total purse of $2,735, was hosted by Burrkat Billiards in Monroe, NC.
Fisher battled Monica Webb twice on her way to the event victory; the first time in the hot seat match, after she'd defeated Gerda Hofstatter 9-5 and Webb had shutout Lisa Davids. Fisher took the opening match versus Webb 9-3 to gain the hot seat.
Hofstatter moved to the one-loss side and met up with Line Kjoersvik, who'd shutout Cheryl Pritchard and defeated Katie Cowan 9-5 to reach her. Davids faced Allison Fisher, who, after being sent west from among the winners' side final eight by the other Fisher, defeated Tour Director Kim Shaw 9-7 and Belinda Calhoun 9-3. The relative rookie (Davids) dropped the veteran Fisher into the tie for fifth place 7-4, as Kjoersvik was busy ending Hofstatter's tournament bid 9-7.
Kjoersvik took the quarterfinals that followed 9-3 over Davids and faced Webb in the semifinals. A determined Webb allowed Kjoersvik only a single rack in those semifinals and got a second chance versus Webb. Second verse was same as the first, as Fisher took the single set final 9-4.
