The field at the 2nd Brunei 9-Ball Invitational Cup has now been narrowed to just four players.
The final players in the event being held at the National Indoor Stadium in Brunei consist of three Taiwanese players and one lone hope from the Phillipines. Fong Pang Chao, Po Cheng Kuo and Chia Ching Wu are joined by Gandy Valle in the final four.
Efren Reyes just missed the final four after a 9-5 loss to Chao. Leading 7-5, Chao made a 9-ball break and was then given a gift as Reyes scratched on his break with a 2-9 combo available for the match win. Defending champion Muhamad Junarto was eliminated 9-6 in the final 8 by Kuo. Reigning World Champion Wu defeated Taiwanese superstar Ching-Shun Yang 9-2 in the final 16 and then Thanh Nam Nguyen in the final eight.
The eventual winner of the event will pocket $10,000 for first place.
