Niels Feijen
Niels Feijen has taken his Team Europe to an 8-1 lead at the 2013 Partypoker.net Mosconi Cup.
Trailing 7-0, Team USA was finally able to move a bead in their direction when Earl Strickland & Shane Van Boening came back from a 3-1 deficit to defeat the team of Darren Appleton & Mika Immonen. Earl & Shane held a 5-3 lead, but watched as Darren & Mika came back to tie things at 5-5. Things looked bad for the American duo as Immonen lined up a 7-ball in the final game, but Immonen missed the ball. Shane banked in the 7-ball and Earl used all of the pocket to finish off the rack and Team USA was on the board.
Any momentum that Team USA might have felt after that win was quickly destroyed by Niels Feijen as he played perfect pool on the way to a 6-0 win over Johnny Archer. In all fairness, Niels would have beaten anyone in the match as he controlled each and every table and left Johnny no air at all.
Trailing 8-1, the final hopes for Team USA on day two rest on the cues of Rodney Morris & Shane Van Boening as they take on Mika Immonen & Karl Boyes in the last match of the day.
