As the world continues to try to control the current health crisis, there have been more additions to the list of events that are being postponed or canceled across the world of cuesports.
Last week, Pat Fleming announced the postponement of the 2020 International Open until February 2021. Another of last week’s announcements was the postponing of the Turning Stone Classic XXXIV until January 7th – 10th, 2021.
This week saw the announcement of the cancellation of the European Pocket Billiard Federation’s Dynamic Billard St. Johann im Pongau Open 2020 and the Predator St. Johann im Pongau Open, which were scheduled to take place in October.
Also announced this week, was the cancellation of the American 14.1 Straight Pool Championship, that was scheduled to take place November 1 – 5 at Q Master Billiards. Tournament organizers announced the 2021 dates for the event will be October 31st – Nov 4th, 2021. That will be immediately following the International 9-Ball Open on October 24th – 30th in Norfolk, Virginia.
One bit of good news this week was the beginning of the Betfred World Snooker Championship at the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield, England. This event is featuring 32 of the top Snooker players in the world, competing for the biggest title in the game. More information on this event is available online at http://www.worldsnooker.com
