Ga-Young Kim may have made all the noise a week ago at the WPBA Women's US Open in Albuquerque, but Sarah Ellerby was not going to allow anyone to spoil her return to the Ladies Spirit Tour this weekend at Planet 9-Ball in Tampa, FL.
Sarah made her way undefeated through a field of 35 players to get to the sunday matches. Ellerby started her sunday with a 7-2 win over Kim, followed up by a 7-1 win over Tracie Hines (formerly Tracie Majors) for the hot-seat.
Kim was not done however. She made her way through the one-loss side with wins over last months winner Ming Ng, Jeannie Seaver and Hines. This set up the rematch with Ellerby in the finals.
Ellerby raced out to a 5-2 lead, but Kim fought back to tie the score at 5-5. From that point, Ellerby took control back and won the last two racks for the 7-5 tournament win.
Ellerby collected $700 for the win, while Kim settled for $525 in second place prize money. Hines and Jeannie Seaver filled out the top four spots.
