Earthquake Rocks US Open

Keith McCready

As day six at the 28th Annual US Open 9-Ball Championship winds down, 'The Earthquake' Keith McCready has solidified his position as 'fan favorite' at this event. McCready keeps rattling off win after win and each match seems to draw a larger crowd to hear McCready's constant chatter.

McCready started the day with an 11-8 win over 'The Terminator' Niels Feijen, and ended the day with an 11-7 win over Jose Parica to leave him playing Jeremy Jones for the hot-seat Sunday morning. McCready led most of the match against Parica and was running out from everywhere. Even with McCready missing 9-balls on two different occasions, Parica was not able to get anything started against McCready.

The other side of the winners side is owned by Jeremy Jones. Jones had wins over two former US Open champions on Saturday as he posted an 11-8 win over Efren Reyes and then an 11-9 win over Rodney Morris.

Morris will face Parica at noon on Sunday with the loser finishing in fourth and earning $7000. Morris is now the sole remaining former US Open champion in the field.

Matches are scheduled for noon, 2PM and 7PM on Sunday.

Brackets are online and we have posted the gallery from the players meeting as well as galleries from Diana Hoppe and Mark Whiteside.
