"The Duchess of Doom" Allison Fisher
As day three of the WPBA Midwest Classic drew to a close, #1 ranked Allison Fisher dodged a major bullet in the form of Laura Smith.
Smith led their round three match on the winners side 5-1, but Fisher clawed back to take the lead at 6-5. It was then Smith's turn to make a run and she took the lead back at 8-7 and was in position to run out the case game and send Fisher to the one-loss side. A missed 4-ball with 3 other balls on the table was the end of Smith's run however, as Fisher won that game and the next for the 9-8 victory.
