Mike Donnelly went undefeated for the second time in a row on the Dishaw Cues Central New York (CNY) Tour on the weekend of November 13-14. The $300-added event, which came within a game of duplicating the final matchup between Donnelly and Dwight Dixon from the October tour stop, drew 28 entrants to Salt City Billiards in Syracuse, NY.
Donnelly got into the hot seat this time on the heels of two straight 7-4 wins; the first against Gary Krebs, and then, versus Willie Oney. Oney, who would return from the semifinals for a second crack at Donnelly, had sent Fran Imburgia west 8-4.
Over on the one-loss side, Dixon was working his way back; defeating Jed Jecen 7-5 and Daryl Osborne 7-4 to move into the first money round and pick up Imburgia. Krebs, in the meantime, drew Rich Riccardi, who'd defeated John Cotter 7-3 and J.B. Brotherton 7-1 to reach him. Krebs survived a double hill match versus Riccardi, as Dixon was busy shutting out Imburgia. Dixon moved one step closer to a finals re-match against Donnelly with a 7-4 victory over Krebs in the quarterfinals, but fell to Oney 8-2 in the semifinals.
Donnelly then completed his undefeated weekend and second straight CNY tour win with a 7-4 victory over Oney. The top three spots on this tour stop were a reflection of the tour's player rankings, with Donnelly, Oney and Dixon on top, followed by Brotherton. Tour representatives thanked Dishaw Custom Cues, Poison Cues, The Predator Group, Total Pool Info, Cue Shark, AZ Billiards and Custom Logo USA for their sponsorship of the event.
