A field of 50 players took part in the Ultimate Challenge at Cue Sports S.A. in Adelaide Australia on January 24th - 26th. This event included divisions for Straight Pool, 9-Ball and 8-Ball with a bonus prize fund for the best finishers in all three divisions.
In the straight pool division, Brenton Collier defeated Greg Jenkins 100-95 for the $1600 AUS payday. James Delahunty won the 8-ball division with an 8-7 win over Sam Frangie for $1700 AUS. Delahunty then lost to Justin Campbell 11-8 in the 9-ball division, but the 2nd place finish was good enough to earn Delahunty the all-around bonus. Campbell won $2000 AUS for the 9-ball division and Delahunty pocketed an extra $1000 AUS for the all-around title.
The next event on the Australian Calendar is the Australian 9 Ball Championships in Melbourne March 19th - 21st.
