The Seminole Florida Pro Tour drew a field of 47 players to Strokers Billiards in Palm Harbor, FL this weekend for the season finale. While some of those players may have travelled a fair distance to attend the tournament, one of the players making the most noise at this event travelled the least distance of all. Strokers room owner Jose Del Rio remained unbeaten after Saturday play with wins over Troy Frank and Chris Bartrum to his credit. Del Rio will face Richard Broumpton on Sunday. In the other winners side match on Sunday, Mike Davis will face Earl Strickland.
On the one loss side, the opening matches on Sunday will be Butch Croft vs Rodney Morris, Jason Kirkwood vs Troy Frank, John Schmidt vs John Ditoro and Adam Wheeler vs Donnie Mills.
With twelve of the eliminated players finishing in the cash, a total of 24 players will end up cashing in the event. First place will earn $5000 for the weekend.
While this event is the final event of the 2005 season, tour director John Ditoro has said that the 2006 schedule will be ready soon and the new season will be kicking off in February of next year.
