The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour returned from a 2 week break with a field of fifty two players at Snookers Billiards in Providence, RI over the weekend of June 12 - 13. With $1500 added to the main event, the players were competing for a total purse of $4800.
Mike Dechaine set himself as the man to beat in this one, as he rode the winners bracket to the hot-seat, which he captured in a 9-8 victory over Nelson Oliviera. The match was close the entire way, but it was Dechaine who edged out Oliviera in the end.
On the one loss side, Oliviera eliminated Dave Fernandez 9-6 to set up a rematch with Dechaine in the finals, but the final match would be decided early as Dechaine cruised to a one-sided 9-4 win and first place.
Dechaine took home $1300 for first, while Oliviera settled for $850.
Sunday saw nineteen of the amateur players from Saturday come back for the $500 added second chance event. This event was won by Herb Lehman, who defeated Phil Davis 3-1 in the finals.
The win was worth $320 for Lehman.
The Joss Tour will be at Main Street Billiards in Amsterdam, Ny on August 7-8 for their last event before the Turning Stone Classic XV on August 19 - 22.
