Mike Dechaine picked up right where he left off two weeks ago on the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour with an undefeated run through the field at Raxx Poolroom in West Hempstead NY on April 26th and 27th.
After an undefeated run two weeks ago at The Golden Cue in Albany, Dechaine looked like he would be tested right out of the gate when he drew Earl Strickland in the first round. Dechaine was unphased by the tough draw and sent Earl to the one loss side 9-5 to get his weekend started.
Dechaine would remain undefeated on Saturday and take the hot-seat on Sunday with a 9-7 win over Mosconi Cup hopeful Jeremy Sossei.
On the one loss side, Earl Strickland was looking for a rematch with Dechaine in the finals. Strickland got his chance with a 9-6 win over Sossei.
Dechaine finished off his weekend with a dominating 9-3 win over Earl in the first - and only - set of the finals.
The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be back in action May 31st and June 1st at Snookers in Providence, RI. Coincidentally, that is Dechaine's home room. The Snookers event will be the final event of the season before The Turning Stone Classic XXII, scheduled for September 18th - 21st at the Turning Stone Casino in Verona, NY. There are a few spots open for the Turning Stone event, and players are urged to contact Mike Zuglan at (518) 356-7163 to reserve their spot.
