More than half of the 9-ball field has dropped. 112 players remain. We won't be seeing Johnny Archer, Corey Deuel, and Shane Van Boening as they are headed to Germany of the WPA World Team Championship. One-pocket runner-up Sylver Ochoa has also opted not to play in the 9-ball event. Iowa's Jesse Bowman lost his first match and passed on buying back in due to four dry breaks in his match. Gabe Owen and Cliff Joyner both forfeit their round one 10 a.m. Matches.
Tomorrow is a day for straight pool. Of all the players that attempted to qualify, the top eight players with the highest runs all enter into a single-elimination bracket. Alex Pagulayan ran away with his match 100-23 against Corey Deuel while Charlie Williams defeated Minnesota's Beau Runningen.
In the Accu-stats arena tomorrow are John Schmidt against Stevie Moore and Bobby Hunter against Germany's Ralf Eckert.
