A multiple world champion in different disciplines, Mosconi Cup star and BCA Hall of Fame inductee Darren Appleton will return to his smaller table roots next week as he makes his Ultimate Pool debut in the Pairs Cup on the evening of Monday 22nd August.
Before taking the American Pool circuit by storm from the late 2000s, the Englishman was a prolific winner in the English 8-Ball Pool world, winning several major events on the professional circuit. A three-time European champion, he also reached two world championship finals.
‘Dynamite’ will team up with friend Chris ‘King Pigeon’ Patient for the Ultimate Pool Pairs Cup in week nine of the unique doubles competition, consisting of a mixture of scotch doubles and singles frames.
A round robin format for the opening phase, the duo will be in the same group as Aaron Davies & Matt Brierley, Matt Ward & Liam Ward and Dave Arnold & Barry Kelly. At the end of the evening, the team at the top of the table with the most points will advance to the last 16 of the tournament later in the year. If teams at the top are tied on points, a 6-red shootout will determine the group winners.
International viewers outside of the UK can subscribe to and watch the action on ultimatepool.tv from 18:30GMT.
