Tom D'Alfonso survived a scare in the double elimination finals and won the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour event at Action Billiards in Hamden, CT.
D'Alfonso cruised untouched to the quarter-finals where he defeated tour director Mike Zuglan 9-5 for the hot-seat.
Zuglan dominated Chuck Altomare in the semi-finals 9-4 to earn another shot at D'Alfonso in the finals.
The first set went Zuglan's way with a 9-5 win over D'Alfonso but Zuglan ran out of gas and D'Alfonso turned the pressure up a notch on his way to a 9-7 win in the final set.
D'Alfonso took home $1100 for first, while Zuglan settled for $780 in second place prize money. Altomare and 'Bristol' Bob Begay filled out the top four spots.
The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Snooker's Cafe & Billiards in Providence, RI on November 19th-20th for their next event.
