Martin Daigle distanced himself from the rest of the field of forty six players to go undefeated and win the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour’s second stop of the season, which took place at Sharpshooters in Amsterdam, NY on October 19th.
Daigle looked virtually unstoppable as he took the hot-seat with a 9-2 shellacking of Ron Cosanzio.
Cosanzio was looking for another shot at Daigle, and he would get it after sending Dave Grau to the rail in third place 9-6 in the semi-finals.
Cosanzio had a better showing in the final, but it was still Daigle taking an early lead and holding off Cosanzio in the way to a 9-6 win in the first and only set.
The second chance event on Sunday drew fifteen players and Mike Hurley took the hot-seat with a 3-2 win over Kevin Ketz. Ketz scored a 3-2 win over Brian Lipes in the semi-final match to earn another shot at Hurley in the finals. The finals went two sets with Ketz scoring a 3-1 win in the first set, but dropping the second set 3-1 and settling for second place.
Fred Gokey was the proud winner of the $1275 Joss Custom Cue raffle at the event.
Next week, the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Premium Billiards in Syracuse, NY, followed by stops at Salt City Billiards and Hippos House of Billiards the two weeks after that. Tour director Mike Zuglan has announced that any amateur player who plays in all three of the next Joss Tour events, will be eligible for a drawing to win a free entry into the Turning Stone Classic XXIII on January 8th - 11th.
