Billiard distributor giant and manufacturer CueStix International has come on board as the title sponsor of the now Scorpion Cues Johnny Archer Classic! With an all star cast of international billiards stars, the event is going to be one of the biggest events of the year in the southeast as well as the largest in Georgia. Dragon Promotions, in conjunction with the Marietta Billiard Club, will be producing the Scorpion Cues Johnny Archer Classic on October 12th-14th, 2012. The event formally known as the Gem City Classic, is continuing on this year and expanding to become a larger professional tournament. This year's event will have a prize fund of $8000 added with three events going on over the weekend including a women's open and a men's pro-am.

US Open Champion Rodney Morris, Mosconi Cup MVP Dennis Hatch, Filipino cue wizard Warren Kiamco, BCA Hall of Famer Nick Varner, BCA Open Champion Charlie Williams, and World Bank Pool Champ Shannon Daulton are just some of the A list stars. The event is supported by Fat Boy Productions Co. and Steve Florentino Billiards. Heavy hitter companies are getting behind the event for the first time as well such as Ozone Billiards and Championship Cloth who will be supplying all the tournament tables Tour Edition 3030 cloth. Billiards Digest, Pool & Billiard Magazine, and Inside Pool Magazine are also sponsoring the event.
