CueSports International, Henderson, NV (June 29, 2016) – CSI referees have been selected for the 2016 Atlantic Challenge Cup and the 2016 BEF Junior National 9-Ball Championships. Both events take place at the Renaissance Schaumburg Convention Center Hotel outside of Chicago in July.
The referees for the Atlantic Challenge Cup are CSI Level 3 Referee Rick Doner and CSI Level 1 Referee Ricky Bryant. The Atlantic Challenge Cup, held July 8-11, is a junior event patterned after the Mosconi Cup. Europe and the U.S. will each have a team of four boys and two girls that will battle in team, triples, scotch doubles and singles formats.
The Atlantic Challenge Cup is being produced through a joint venture between the European Pocket Billiard Federation and the Billiard Congress of America. For more information and player rosters, go to Atlanticchallengecup.com.
The 2016 BEF Junior National 9-Ball Championships will be held July 13-16 in conjunction with the BCA Billiard & Home Leisure Expo. The referees chosen for that event include: Rick Doner, CSI Level 3 Referee, Head Referee; Justin Ballou, CSI Level 1 Referee, Assistant Head Referee; Mel Leonard, CSI Level 1 Referee; John Taylor, CSI Level 1 Referee; Angela Williams, CSI Level 1 Referee; and Thomas Lind, CSI Level 1 Referee.
CSI Referees receive the most professional billiard referee training in the industry, undergoing 20 hours of classroom instruction followed by 12 hours of floor training followed by written examinations. To remain in good standing or to be considered for promotion, CSI Referees must pass annual written examinations and follow a strict code of conduct.
