The J. Pechauer NorthEast Women's Tour held the 14th Annual NY State 9-Ball Championship at The Pocket Billiard Lounge in Binghamton, NY this weekend with a power packed field of 27 players.
Kim Shaw captured the hot-seat with a 7-5 win over Jennifer Barretta.
WPBA #2 ranked player Karen Corr dropped a match to Shaw early, but came back through the one-loss side scoring back-to-back 7-2 wins over Julie Kelly and then Jennifer Barretta.
The true double elimination finals saw Corr defeat Shaw 7-2 and then 7-5 to capture the title.
Corr pocketed $600 for the win, while Shaw settled for $450. There were two WPBA qualifiers up for grabs at this event. Jennifer Barretta won the 2004 US Open qualifier, while Liz Schwartzreich won the 2003 Nationals qualifier.
The JPNEWT tour will be at Hagerstown Billiards in Hagerstown, MD on November 8th-9th for their next event.
