The Chesapeake Area Tour was at Champion Billiards and Sports Café in Laurel MD for the 2003 Women's Maryland State 9-Ball Championship this weekend.
A field of 28 players competed for this title, including a number of the top WPBA players.
#2 ranked WPBA player Karen Corr took the hot seat with a 7-3 win over #10 ranked Julie Kelly. Kelly won a close 7-6 match over #8 ranked Kim Shaw to earn the rematch with Corr, but the finals were all Karen as she cruised to a 7-1 victory.
Corr pocketed $515 for the win, while Kelly settled for $390 in second place prize money. Shaw and Romana Dokovik filled out the top four spots. The US Open qualifier went to Sueyen Rhee, the top finishing amateur player.
The CAT Tour will be at Champion Billiards and Sports Café in Frederick, MD on September 20th - 21st for their next event.
