Clint Clark found every gear he needed to win the Great Southern
Billiards Tour's Greenwood Amateur Classic at the Sports Break in
Greenwood, SC. Clark wound his way through the field undefeated with
wins over Mike Basha (7-5), Robert Henderson (7-2), Dillon Whaley
(7-1), Russ Padgett (7-3), and Kevin Smith (7-2). In the hotseat match
against Scott Rabon he prevailed (7-6), and in the finals he had to
lose two sets to Brian Capps in the true double-elimination finals.
That did not happen as Capps won the first set (9-3), but in the second
set it was Clark doing the deed (7-5) to win the tournament.
Kudos must go to the valiant effort put forth by
Brian Capps. Capps had a great showing with a little touger road to the
finals. Capps defeated Aaron Mejia (9-1), Jose Tovar (9-2), and then
was sent to the B side by Scott Rabon (9-3). He then battled back on
the one loss side taking wins over Eric Bagwell (9-6), Adam Pendley
(9-3), Antonio Tovar (9-4), Sam Monday (9-6), Matt Reed (9-6), Josh
Roberts (9-6) and Scott Rabon (9-7).
Thanks go out to Sports Break Billiards in
Greenwood for hosting this event. The next GSBT tour stop is March 7-8
at Paradise Billiards in Charlotte, NC.
