Most of the time, the winner of a tournament has to face tougher and tougher matches as the event goes on. That didn't seem to be case for CJ Jerome this weekend at the Jacoby Custom Cues Great Lakes Tour's stop at The Rack in Livonia, Michigan.
Jerome won three different nail biting hill-hill matches to get to the match for the hot-seat, but it was all smooth sailing after that. Jerome took the hot-seat with a 7-1 win over Joy Helton. Helton bounced back with a 7-3 win over Julie Melman who had already won two stops this season. The win over Melman earned Helton another shot at Jerome in the finals, but Jerome was just as unstoppable the second time around as she cruised to a 9-2 in the extended final set.
Jerome earned $450 for first place, with Helton taking home $270 for second. Melman and Sheri Cole filled out the top four spots.
Tour director Julie Melman expressed the tours thanks to Jeff's Complete Auto Body and Paint for their generous sponsorship of this event. The Great Lakes Tour's next stop will be at Hall of Fame Billiards in Warren, MI on January 28th and 29th.
