The Arizona Women's Billiards Tour held a qualifier for the WPBA San Diego Classic at Main Street Billiards in Tucson, Arizona this weekend for a field of 34 players.
While the AWBT certainly features the best that Women's pool in Arizona has to offer, it was two players from out of state that featured in this event. Phoebe Choy from Hawaii raced undefeated to the hot seat which she took with a 7-2 victory over Arizona star Angel Paglia.
Paglia was then handed loss #2 by former Arizona and current California player Jane Fujinaga. Fujinaga then moved on to face Choy in the finals. Choy was no stranger to the hot-seat as she was in the same place last week at the Hunter Classic's Womens Tour stop in Albuquerque NM, where she lost to Terri Kelley twice in the finals.
Choy would not be denied this week however, as she defeated Fujinaga 7-5 in the finals for the win and the WPBA qualifier.
Choy collected $329 for first while Fujinaga pocketed $226 for second. Paglia and Susan Williams filled out the top four spots.
The Arizona Women's Billiards Tour will be at Time Out Lounge in Tempe, AZ on February 15th for their scotch doubles fund raiser.
