Play continues today at the $5000 added Desert Dust Off at Alexanders Sports Bar in Phoenix Arizona.
The biggest news so far on Saturday was the early elimination of 'California' Kim Davenport. Davenport started the tournament on Friday with a dominating 9-3 win over Tang Hoa, but Saturday did not go so well. Davenport's first match on Saturday was a loss to Max Eberle and Davenport was then sent home by Californian Joey Chin.
One of Arizona's top players, Scott Frost, was a two and out elimination at the event. A loss on Friday night to Justin Whitehead was Frost's first match and he was a no-show for his Saturday match with Jack Rippel.
Top players still undefeated include Jose Parica, Fach Garcia, Jeremy Jones, Ernesto Dominguez, Shane Van Boening, Max Eberle and Billy Palmer. Those out of state favorites are joined on the right side of the board by local favorites including Jimmy Mendoza, Tony Confalone, Dennis Orender, Chuck Evans, Eddie Uber, Tres Kane, Ed Scott and Brad Johnson.
As if running one of the top amateur leagues wasn't enough work, BCA League owner Mark Griffin is in attendance this weekend and is still undefeated.
