Every year at Interpool Open there are a 10-ball Challenge with a total prizefund of nearly $5 000. 16 players, single elimination, race to 8 and the top 4 players get paid.
After a rough start in the first round where Francisco Bustamante beat Tom Storm (SWE) 8-7 he dominated the second round against (FRA) winning 8-3. Another tuff match for Bustamante in the semifinal against Ruslan Chinakhov (RUS) and another hill hill win, 8-7. In the final the opponent was one of the worlds best carom players through all times, Torbjörn Blomdahl (SWE). Blomdahl really impressed the crowd and the players with massive skills in the game of 10-ball. But against Francisco Bustamante (PHI) he did not stand a chance this time, Bustamente winning the final 8-1 and the first prize of $2 200.
