Francisco Bustamante has made a statement already, at the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour finale at Accu-Billiards in New Bedford MA.
Bustamante defeated Darren Belliveau in the first round and went on to defeat Ivaylo Petrov in round two, to set up a marquee matchup with 'The Scorpion' Johnny Archer in the third round. Archer has been at the top of his game lately, but he had no answer for Bustamante this time. Bustamante rolled to a 9-1 victory and looks to be the player to beat in New Bedford this weekend. Bustamante will face Frankie Hernandez later on Saturday.
Other players taking early trips to the one-loss side were Danny Hewitt, Rodney Morris and Karen Corr.
Marquee matchups scheduled for later on Saturday include Teddy Garrahan vs Santos Sambajon and Earl Strickland vs Jarrod Clowery.
