THE 3rd Billiards and Snooker Congress of the Philippines (BSCP) National Pool Championships gets underway on September 3-7 at the Star Billiards Center, Quezon City. The prestigious Philippine Pool Champion Trophy will be at stake.
BSCP President Ernie Fajardo stressed that the Championship is open to all male and female Filipino cue artists. He added that the Championships would also be an opportunity to discover new talents who could be their future players in the 2009 Southeast Asian Games in Laos.
Fajardo also said that the top four male winners in this unique Ten-Ball format will be awarded with prize trophies and ensured of a slot to the WPA 2008 World 10-Ball Championships from Sept. 23 to Oct. 9 at the PICC.
BSCP has designated Julius Nidea as the Tournament Director. Nidea said that the tournament format is 10-Ball, race-to-9, winners break, knock-out system during the quarterfinals up to the finals and Race to 11 will be used. WPA game rules will be enforced.
The 3rd National Pool Championship is in partnership with the Star Billiards, Philippine Olympic Committee, Philippine Sports Commission, Raya Sports and the Philippine Billiards Foundation.
