As day one of the 2005 Glass City Open draws to a close, defending champion Charlie Bryant finds himself in a spot that he never saw in last years event; the one loss side. Bryant dropped a 10-6 match to local hero Dan Wardrop who had his fans working on top volume during the entire match. Bryant couldn't draw a cheer no matter what he did during the match, while Wardrop was loudly cheered for every game he won.
Bryant was not the only surprise player sent to the one loss side on day one. Keith McCready dropped a tough 10-9 decision to Adam 'GQ' Smith, while Jim Rempe lost a 10-9 match to Charlie Mora. Ryan McCreesh also found himself on the one loss side after a 10-7 loss to Bobby Hunter.
Another local player celebrated his birthday in style as Steve McAninch scored back to back 10-7 wins over Tim Heath and Marty Sawinski.
We have a large photo gallery from Diana Hoppe who is at the event and online brackets have been updated with all but the final round from Wednesday.
