Stop #5 on the Hampton Ridge 9-Ball Tour was held at Castle Billiards in East Rutherford NJ. A strong field was in attendance, lead by Josh Brothers who won the first two stops of the season but had not been to victory circle since then.
Brothers looked good with an undefeated run to the hot-seat. Brothers scored wins over Eric Hu 7-4, Tim Barrett 7-5, Scott Bannon 7-6, and close friend Matt Krah 7-4.
Corey Kappen lost his first match 7-6 to Wali Muhammed sending him to the one loss side where he then defeated Brian Kerchner, 7-3 Joseph Landi 7-4, Gary Barnish 7-3, Carmen Lombardo 7-2, Dinko Busanich 7-1 and Matt Krah 7-1 to get to the finals.
As hot as Kappen was playing, this tournament was Brothers' as he rolled to a 9-3 win in the finals.
