Both Jeanette Lee and husband George Breedlove were in attendance this weekend at the Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour stop at Sharkys Billiards in Collinsville Illinois. While it was Jeanette that earned most of the attention, it was George that brought home the win.
Lee played well in the event, but finally posted her first loss when she dropped a 9-5 decision to Breedlove. Lee eventually lost to Andy Quinn on Sunday to earn 5th place. The crowd might have been disappointed to see Lee's tournament play end, but it just meant more time for autographs for all of the fans.
Meanwhile, Breedlove remained undefeated on his way to the hot-seat which he took with a 9-6 win over Joe Wolford from St Louis. Wolford went to the one-loss side and met up with Andy Quinn. This match was a hard fought battle with neither player willing to give an inch. In the end, Wolford pulled out a 9-7 win to earn the rematch with Breedlove in the finals.
The finals were another close match, with Breedlove scoring a 9-7 win this time for first place.
Breedlove earned $1500 for first, while Wolford settled for $900. Quinn and 17 year old Justin Bergman filled out the top four spots. Not only did Lee finish in 5th, but fellow female player Julia Gabriel also posted a 5th place finish.
The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour will be at Numans Billiards in Johnson City, TN next weekend for their next event.
