As Saturday draws to a close at the Open 9-Ball event at Breakers Billiards in Knoxville TN, a couple surprising names remain on the winners side after marquee matches with top players.
Earl Strickland was one of the players who took the trip to the one-loss side after a lopsided loss to George Breedlove on Saturday. Joining Strickland on the one-loss side are Rodney Morris and Shannon Daulton. Breedlove is undefeated and will play Tony Mougey on Sunday morning. Breedlove's wife Jeanette Lee is also undefeated and will take on Nick Hickerson on Sunday for the chance to play the winner of the Breedlove/Mougey match.
After play completed in the main event on Saturday night, eight players paid $250 each for a $2000 winner take all event. This event was won by Earl Strickland who scored a hill-hill win over Tony Watson in the finals.
