A field of 36 players made their way to Cunninghams Pool and Darts in Vero Beach, FL over the weekend for the SE Open 9-Ball Tour Stop.
Bill Ferguson became the man to beat in this one as he took the hot-seat with a 9-5 win over Richard Broumpton.
On the one loss side. Broumpton had to face Tommy Kennedy who had lost to Broumpton earlier in the day and had revenge on his mind. That was not to be though, as Broumpton handed Kennedy loss #2 by the score of 9-6.
This set up the rematch between Ferguson and Broumpton in the extended finals. The match couldn't have been closer and went to hill-hill before Ferguson pocketed the final 9-ball and won the match 11-10.
Ferguson earned $1000 for first place while Broumpton settled for $500. Kennedy and Dave Favor filled out the top four spots. Top female honors went to Bonnie Coats and the top junior was Prescott Buckwold. They each earned $50.
The SE Open 9-Ball Tour will be at Burrkat's Billiards in Monroe, NC on November 19th-20th for their next event. The previously scheduled event at Murphys Brass Rail in Athens, GA has been cancelled.
