The Big Orange Classic III is underway at Breakers Billiards in Knoxville, TN with a field of 55 players that includes Earl Strickland, Stevie Moore, Jonathan Hennessee, Chris Bartrum and tournament director Bobby Pickle.
By the luck of the draw, two early favorites Stevie Moore and Jonathan Hennessee met in the first round. The match went to hill-hill with Hennessee breaking. Hennessee broke open the rack and was pleased to see the 9-ball find it's way to a pocket. Unfortunately, so did the cue ball. That left an open table for Moore and he did not waste the opportunuty as he ran out for the 9-8 win. Moore went on to defeat Matt Braden in his next match.
The tournament will pick back up on Saturday morning but will stop early on Saturday evening to allow all of the fans to give the Tennessee Volunteers college football game their undivided attention.
Brackets are online for the event and will be updated until a winner is crowned on Sunday.
