For the second week in a row, Bruce Berrong bounced back from an early loss to win a Viking Tour Stop in two sets. This time, Berrong's victim was Jim Jennings.
Jennings scored a 7-5 win over Billy Tyler for the hot-seat. Tyler had looked strong all day with hill-hill wins over both Bruce Berrong and BJ Ussery. Jennings almost fell to the one-loss side early as he trailed Dana Aft 6-1 in his second match of the tournament. Aft was running out from everywhere, but she couldn't win that last game and Jennings came back to win the match 7-6.
On the one-loss side, Tyler ran into Berrong who was looking to avenge that early loss to him. Berrong did just that with a 7-3 win over Tyler forcing Tyler to settle for third place.
Berrong won the double elimination finals with Jennings 7-5 and 7-4 for his second straight Viking Tour win.
Berrong earned $1050 for first, while Jennings took home $650 for second. Tyler and Ussery filled out the top four spots.
The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour will be at Sharkys Billiards in Collinsville, IL on January 29th-30th for their next stop.
