Start of Beassy™ 9-ball World Class Open merged with presentation of new high end cue brand
Sunday, 02 October 2011: The second tournament of the Beassy™ Billiard Festival in Hotel Eger & Park in Eger, Hungary, has started today and will be played until Tuesday, October 4th, 2011. The tournament carries 28.900,- € in prize money with 5.000,- € for the winner. The format is 9-ball, race to 9 racks, double elimination until the final 32 players. 103 players from all over Europe have announced for the event and will battle for the prize fund. The venue for the tournament is the same as it was the Euro-Tour which ended yesterday.
The first round already provided some interesting clashes of well-known players. David Alcaide (ESP) sent Fabio Petroni (ITA) to the one-loss side, defeating him 9:5. Sandor Tot (SRB) just made it over Andreas Koukiadakis (GRE) with 9:8. Ruslan Chinakhov (RUS) overcame Francisco Sanchez-Ruiz (ESP) with 9:5. Jayson Shaw (SCO) remained victorious over Roman Hybler (SZE) with 9:4. A small upset was the victory of Nick Malai (ALB) over Bruno Muratore (ITA) with 9:7. Many high ranked European Top players have received a walk-over in their first round and will step in the action in the next round.
While the tournament started, the much-anticipated cue brand from Beassy™ was finally launched. The organizer herself, Beatrix Dobossy, put the first cues in the displays and right away, these high class cues caught the player's attention.
„Everybody has the own Dream Cue in mind, as I was also drawing and making designs for mine many years ago. Having a huge amount of sketches, I was looking up for cue makers and factories to create my own Dream Cue with the new trend: the finest design work with extreme solutions and with the best playability and quality, of course. The expectations were high, what needed unprecedented new technology.” says Dobossy while presenting her brand new cues. “Mission impossible – was the answers from everywhere. But I never give up.” The result can be viewed at the tournament site today and also on the brand's website, www.beassy.com .”The cues are meant for those players in the World who have a demand for luxury and high performance handmade cues”, Dobossy says.
The Beassy™ events are hosted by Beassy™ Ltd. and organized by International Billiard Promotion (IBP). For further information and reference please go to the event website www.beassy.com or contact our press office.
