The Billiard Congress of America has released their updated points list and while Shane Van Boening still sits at the top of the list, his lead is far from comfortable.
By virtue of back to back wins at Turning Stone, Jayson Shaw has climbed seven spots and now sits in second place, a mere 15 points behind Van Boening. To make matters worse for Van Boening, he will be losing 36 more points than Shaw when Derby City results are added and Ultimate 10-Ball results are removed from the list. That will bring Shaw to first place prior to adding Derby City results. Even if Shane wins Derby City, a second place finish by Shaw will give him first place on the list.
Shaw's seven spot climb was not the largest gain on the list, as Mika Immonen climbed fifteen spots into 4th place. The second highest climber was American Rodney Morris, who jumped eleven spots into 6th place.
The next release of the BCA points list will be immediately following the 17th Annual Derby City Classic on January 23-31. The next event on the BCA points list after Derby City will be the Joss NE 9-Ball Tour's Turning Stone Classic XIV on August 20th - 22nd.
The BCA points list is used for issuing International event invites to North American players.
