Day two is complete at the BCA Open 9-Ball Championships and all matches from round two are complete.
Day two saw the winners of the last three men's events sent to the one-loss side. Last year's winner Ralf Souquet was beaten by Rodolfo Luat 11-5, while Corey Deuel fell to Rodney Morris and Charlie Williams lost a heartbreaker to John Schmidt. Williams came back from a 7-4 deficit to win six in a row and lead 10-7. He would not win another game as Schmidt went on to win the next four games and the set.
Another match that had the crowd in suspense was between Shannon Daulton and Robert Clark from Texas. Clark is in the event this week by winning a qualifier, but he looked like a champion early in this match. Much to the crowd's delight, he raced to a 10-5 lead against Daulton. A missed 6-ball in the next rack was the beginning of problems for Clark. Daulton won that game to get back to 10-6, but game Clark chanced in each rack after that. Clark was unable to cash in on any of these chances and Daulton finally won 11-10.
Complete brackets with results from all of Tuesday's matches are online.
