The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour kicked off the second half of their season with a strong field of 52 players at a $2000 added event held at Comet Billiards in Parsippany, NJ.
It was another strong event for WPBA #2 ranked Karen Corr as she cruised through day one undefeated. Corr finally ran into Al Lapena in the final four on the winners side and came up short 9-6. Lapena went on to play for the hot-seat, where he lost Danny Basavich 9-6.
On the one loss side, Lapena found Corr waiting for their rematch. Corr had dispatched Allen Hopkins and Sean Morgan, but she had her sights set on the finals against Basavich. Corr earned her revenge over Lapena with a 9-5 win.
The finals were a different story though as Basavich cruised to a comfortable 9-4 win in the first and only set.
Basavich earned $1500 for first place, while Corr settled for $1060. Lapena and Morgan filled out the top four places.
The Joss NE 9-Ball Tour will be at Snookers Cafe & Billiards in Providence, RI next weekend for the 17th Ocean State 9-Ball Championship.
