Friday matches are underway at the UPA Pro Tour Championship being held at The Bicycle Club Casino in Bellflower, Ca.
All Friday matches have been on the one-loss side so far, with very few upsets. In a couple unexpected match results, Bernardo Chavez elminiated Luc Salvas 11-4 and Jeff Abernathy eliminated Ismael Paez 11-9 on Friday.
In winners side matches on Thursday night, Danny Basavich treated the fans to a hill-hill victory over Francisco Bustamante. Bustamante made a great bank shot early in the final game, but ended up hooked on the next ball and Basavich ran out on his next trip to the table.
In other winners side action, Danny Harriman forfeited in his match against Corey Deuel and was forfeited from the event based on a new rule imposed by the UPA.
The winners side will feature many marquee matches on Friday night included Johnny Archer vs Efren Reyes, Corey Deuel vs Charlie Williams, Tony Robles vs Mike Davis and Danny Basavich vs Santos Sambajon.
