Danny 'Kid Delicious' Basavich went undefeated through a field of 57 players to win the Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour stop at the site of last year's tour championship, Northfield Billiards in Northfield, OH.
Basavich captured the hot-seat with a 7-4 win over Kevin England from Mansfield, OH. At the same time this match was happening, Leil Gay was sending Troy Frank to the bleachers in their match on the one-loss side. Gay won that match 7-3.
Gay then defeated England 7-3 on the one-loss side to set up the true double elimination finals between Basavich and Gay. Gay scored the 7-4 victory in the first set and stayed with Basavich in the beginning of the second set, but faded late in the second set. At 2-2, Basavich win three straight to move ahead 5-2. Gay was able to win one to get back to 5-3, but Basavich won the next two for the tournament victory.
Basavich collected $1450 for first and Gay took home $950 for second. England and Frank filled out the top four spots.
The Viking Tour will be at Murphy's Brass Rail in Athens, GA next weekend.
