One of the most important factors about this year's U. S . Open at the Marriott is to have all play in one room which everyone wants including myself.
Downsizing at the Marriot and changing the floor plan to what it was at the Conference Center for so long with the T.V. table center court with 200 plus V.I.P. seats around it and have 4 tables on each side will only work with 128 players max. So the field is limited this year to 128.
The $50,000.00 added funds now after more thought will be in Suntrust U. S. Open account 90 days out, not 60 days, July 15th for all to see. Around $30,000.00 comes from V.I.P. seat sales, and the other $20,000.00 comes with sponsor funds, vendors and more including Q Master Billiards, if necessary, as it will be done now 90 days out. I hope that answers many questions about where the added money comes from. Players entry fees will not be accepted until it is proven the $50,000.00 is indeed secured into my U.S. Open Suntrust Account.
V.I.P. seats floor plan and ticket sales will go on sale by June 1st, 6 weeks prior to having the added money in escrow.
I will do this alone as this is my Baby, I began in 1976 and nurtured it through the good, the bad, and the ugly. I have to prove myself, by myself and I will. I’m certain to fill it at 128 players, both top world players as well as many American and foreign qualifiers. Imagine U.S. Open qualifiers from America and also overseas with more and more each year, which will give more players the opportunity to play in this limited field of 128 players. “The Masters” Golf Tournment is the only major with less than 100 players and all other majors have a max of 154. They have the worlds top 50 ranked players and the rest of the field consists of many criterias of players globally. The U.S. Open could be similar to the Masters is my belief and possibly remain that way for the future.
Also, only 6 days of play and not 7 with matches Monday through Friday from 11 A.M. to 1 P. M., 3 P.M. to 5 P.M. for day matches and only two prime time evening matches at 8 P.M. and 10 P.M. Surely this is a now a nice day. Saturday down to our final 4 players as usual 1 P.M. to 3 P.M. finals at 7 P.M.
