April 12th, 2011- The Green Room in Jackson, MS hosted The Maxim Billiards Amateur Tour Event the weekend of April 9-10, 2011. The event drew in 46 entrants and paid out $3080 in prize fund monies.
The Maxim Billiards Amateur Tour's $1000 Added 9-Ball Event which featured the low economy buster entry fee of $30 kicked off on Saturday with 27 players. The event finished up with Joey Barnes from Texas taking first place after he made his way undefeated to the hot seat. Barnes began his bid for first in the bottom of the brackets. Barnes drew a bye in round one then proceeded to defeat the following: Shane Whatley 9-4; Troy Houghton 9-2; John "ReRun" Lacy 9-5; Nick Arcement 9-7. Barnes and Arcement would face off in the finals after Arcement defeated Lacy 9-7in the semifinals. Barnes lost set one to Arcement 9-5 in the true double elmination format but made a comeback in set two defeating Arcement 9-4 to take home first place.
The Maxim Billiards Amateur Tours $500 Guaranteed 8-Ball Event which featured a $10 entry was won by Chris Biggart. Biggart began his trek to first in the bottom of the bracket defeating : March Meek 5-3; Herman Quarles 5-1; Daniel "Lil D" McKenney 5-0; Danny Key 5-3. Biggart faced Lil D in the finals losing set one 5-3 but coming back in set two 5-0 to take the first place prize monies.
