The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour was at Palace Billiards in Villa Park, IL with 69 players for one of their three events this weekend.
The last two weekends have seen Jamie Baraks defeat Larry Nevel in the finals to win events. This weekend, Baraks defeated Dan Goepel for the hot-seat and then watched as Nevel finished Goepel off to set up yet another final match between Baraks and Nevel.
Nevel would have to beat Baraks twice in the finals, a feat he failed to accomplish last weekend when Baraks won the first set for the tournament win. This weekend, Nevel took the first set of the finals 7-6, but ran out of gas and lost the second set 7-2 to give Baraks his third straight Viking Tour win.
Baraks pocketed $1100 for first while Nevel settled for $700 in second place prize money. Goepel and Jeff Sergeant filled out the top four spots.
The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour will be at Mr Pockets in Pittsburgh, PA next weekend for their next event and the first of the $5000 added Regional Championships will be held at GameTime / Riptide in Greenville, SC on October 25th - 26th.
