Jamie Baraks came back from the one-loss side last week to defeat Larry Nevel and win the Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour event at The Green Room in N. Aurora, Illinois.
This week at Cue-Can-Do in Schaumburg IL, Baraks and Nevel were facing off against each other again. They would also have to contend with Shawn Putnam who is a favorite to snap off any Viking event he enters.
Putnam would take an early exit from this event as he lost to Neil Jacobs 7-1 and Ike Runnels 7-5 to finish in 9th place.
Just like last week, Baraks and Nevel faced off for the hot-seat. Last week, it was Nevel who took the hot-seat. This time, it was Baraks who scored a 7-1 win. Nevel took the trip to the one-loss side and faced off against Chad Vilmont who had just came back from a 6-2 deficit to defeat Jim Engels 7-6. Nevel's match with Vilmont would also go to the hill, but this time it was Nevel scoring the 7-6 victory.
Nevel would have to beat Baraks twice in the finals in order to exact his revenge for losing to Baraks last week. Baraks put to rest any chances of that happening, as he cruised to a 7-3 victory to earn his second straight Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour victory.
Tour director Mike Janis expressed his thanks to Cue-Can-Do owners Pete and Amy for hosting a great event. The players were very pleased with the equipment and the atmosphere all weekend long.
The Viking Cue 9-Ball Tour will be holding three events next weekend. A 9-ball event at Palace Billiards in Villa Park IL, an 8-ball event at Bankshot Billiards in Hilliard Ohio and another 8-ball event at J.O.B.'s Billiards in Madison TN.
