Karen Armstrong won JPNEWT's 3rd event at the ever-accommodating Comet Billiards, in Parsippany, NJ as Bill and Marcia Haley hosted their second J. Pechauer NorthEast Women's Tour event on June 4th/5th.
The hot seat match was between Carol Clark and Kathy Friend and was a nail-biter hill-hill match. Carol came out the victor and rested while Kathy matched up with Karen Armstrong. Karen took a strong lead and won the match 7-4.
The finals were one race to 9 that started at midnight. Having been up since 4 am, Carol regained her second wind too late and lost 9-5 against Karen. Karen wins the WPBA Qualifier for the Midwest Classic event. Carol's second place finish propelled her to first place on the JPNEWT tour.
JPNEWT's next event will be the 12th Annual New Jersey State 9-Ball Championships at Herbert's Billiards in Secaucus, NJ. The amount added is $1250 and there will be two WPBA US Open Qualifiers up for grabs.
