Darren Appleton defeated Glenn Atwell in the finals of the 2009 United States Bar Table Championships at the Sands Regency Hotel and Casino in Reno,NV. Glenn Atwell played very well throughout the event and defeated more than his share of strong players along the way. He was faced with the daunting challenge of having to beat the current WPA World Ten Ball Champion Darren Appleton twice in order to claim the title.
Darren played the same consistent solid game in the finals that won him the hot seat and after a deliberate match took the title and the first place check for $4100. Glenn Atwell took $2550 for second.
