LAKE SAINT LOUIS, MO (May 27, 2008) — The American Poolplayers Association (APA) has ended its 5-year sponsorship agreement with No. 1 ranked WPBA pool player Allison Fisher. Citing a desire to redirect market dollars outside the industry in an effort to reach new poolplayers, the APA ended the agreement in January 2008.
“In no way is the end of our relationship with Allison a reflection on her as an ambassador for the APA Leagues. She was an outstanding representative for our organization, and we look forward to continuing to work with her under different terms in the future,” said APA Public Relations Manager Jason Bowman.
Allison will appear at the upcoming APA National Team Championships in August where she will have a booth offering her official products, and will provide instructional classes to APA members.
‘I have enjoyed a long, mutually beneficial relationship with the APA and respect their decision to explore new territory,' said Allison.
The APA will maintain its support of the WPBA Classic Tour through its role as a Presenting Sponsor. “We wanted to continue to support the ladies of the WPBA, including Allison, but we also felt we needed to divert some of our marketing dollars towards new initiatives,” added Bowman.
Allison Fisher has been voted Player of the Year for 11 of the last 12 years of competing in the US. She is known as the best female cueist in the World and has won 73 professional titles in her pool career.
